What does Daniel do in response to an insidious plot against him? He keeps daily contact with the Lord, praying three times everyday. He pours out his need to the Lord through the open window that faces Jerusalem. Not only is his prayer one of petition to God for his crisis, but prayer strengthens his faith as he recalls that his God, always faithful in the past, will be with him in the den to shut the mouths of the lions. And so it happens.
When anything or anyone comes against you, face God, not the evil. Remain faithful to fervent prayer. The Evil One wants to stop your prayer. Increase it! When greater love for your enemies comes about, then the Lord is ever more glorified. What is more: your enemy is more likely to turn to the Lord through your prayer.
