Walking To or From Jesus

Mark 10:17-31

Sense the shifts in the emotions of the rich young man who comes to Jesus. There is sincerity in his search for eternal life. Jesus reviews the basics with him. Yet the young man wants more. “Oh,” says Jesus, in effect: “You want something more? You want to enter into the Kingdom?” Hear the strong, but liberating words of Jesus about letting go of everything but the cross.

The rich young man did not have riches; riches had him. Reflect on your own situation. Is there some person, place, or thing that has a hold on you? Do not be too quick to dismiss this question; there could be denial here. Find out who or what it is, otherwise there will be great sadness in the depths of your heart as you walk away from Jesus.
It is not too late. Throughout your day, walk toward the Lord in all you do. Remember: With God, all things are possible.
