Problems Eclipsed by Praise

Psalm 89

Many psalms are written in the first person pronoun. The soul of the psalmist is poured out in pleas from the heart. This one, however, has the first three-quarters of it completely focused on the wonder and power of the Lord. A self-forgetfulness is refreshing. Praise eclipses problems. The only purpose in creation is to praise and serve the Lord.

After praying the psalm, continue to pour out your soul spontaneously in praise, adoration, and worship. Be comforted by God’s fidelity to the promise about the seed of David. Jesus is this promise, realized in the Holy Spirit who tenderly longs to dwell more deeply in your heart. Once you know this by faith, your problems, as you know them, are over!
