1 Chronicles 7—9
It is possible to access the history of your family from immense data bases prepared for computers. This has spurred interest in the discovery of one’s ethnic origins. With today’s passage, we conclude the nine chapters of genealogies that has been God’s “data base” for the narrative that follows. For people in exile for almost a century, there was need to find themselves flowing from the great list of ancestors through the tribes of Israel and to remain faithful, as later ancestors did not.
Who are the ones close to you in your past that have connected you to the faith of our fathers and mothers? A myriad number of ancestors have conspired with God that you come into existence and believe in Jesus. Nothing is by chance⎯all is the design of God. What difference will you make to your progeny in the light of your growing love for the Lord and God’s Word?
Blessing those who brought me faith
My place in the family
My self leaping from the past
Living to make a diff’rence
