The Jordan River, familiar to us from the Baptism of John, is encountered and crossed for the first time by God’s people. It is about 1200 B.C. Join those making the miracle passage to new life, just as you were one with the crowd baptized by John in the Jordan—those on the brink of knowing Jesus.

The verse for today can become part of your every night’s prayer. Prepare yourself as you are about to fall asleep, with the expectation of the wonders God is going to do in you as the waters of the “Jordans” in your life spread wide to receive your entry into the Promise.

In keeping with Joshua’s instruction in chapter 4, you might find a few stones and place them where you pray, as memorial stones for what God has done for you, and for what God is going to do. You are a living stone⎯a testimony, a witness, a reminder to others of what God can do in our lives.
