A Day to Rest

It’s now three months into the Hebrew’s journey to the Promised Land. Rising before them in the wilderness is an awesome mountain called Sinai. It’s time to take a break, a time for God to speak alone with Moses on the mountain to give Moses special teachings and instructions for God’s people. A cloud covers the base of the mountain as the Glory of the Lord settles down.

In Jesus, you a greater than Moses! God lives inside you in the Holy Spirit. Pause and spend some time in quiet and rest. It is the Sabbath. In your mind’s eye, step back from the “journey” of your life and take a look at it. How is it going for you? Listen in the quiet and God will touch you in the silence with God’s love. Wait for God to show you what your life means to God. You might get some ideas of what kind of person you would like to be as your life continues on day by day.
