The Sixth and Last Week in Epiphany, Year B
Let’s follow Jesus in how he lives one day. The day for Jewish people begins at sunset. It is then that crowds of people press about Jesus longing for the healing they were all learning about. All the people of the town who were so very sick push up against the door where Jesus is staying. Each person waits his or her turn to be touched by Jesus and all the God-love that Jesus brings.
While the town sleeps in peace and joy, after the healings, Jesus quietly walks alone to a dark and quiet place for prayer. There in the silence, Jesus, the Light of the World refreshes himself with intimate communion with His Father, gathering the energy to travel during the day to the next town where the healings start all over again in the evening.
If you happen to wake up during the night, rest with Jesus who wants to share His Father’s love with you.
Sundays are dedicated to the Gospels, in Year B, the Gospel of Mark
