Complaining About Complainers

Be strong! Be fearless! Don’t be afraid and don’t be scared by your enemies, because the Lord your God is the one who marches with you.
He won’t let you down, and he won’t abandon you.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Do you find it annoying when someone complains a lot? When this happens to me, I am tempted to complain about the complainer! Well, that’s what Moses did. He complained to God about the complaints of God’s people about not having enough food a water during their wandering in the wilderness. So much was expected of Moses as a leader, that God would not allow him to enter into the Promised Land because he complained on just one occasion. Moses accepts God’s decision, finding joy in the transfer of his power as a leader to Joshua, just as did Elijah when he gave his powerful spirit of prophesy to Elisha.

When we complain, God’s blessing can’t rest on us. Gratitude escapes from our heart at that moment, like air rushing out of a balloon.

Deuteronomy 31:1-8

Saturdays are dedicated to the Sabbath Torah portions

This plan follows those traditions that take a third of the portion
over a three year cycle, this year, the second part.
