Isaac and Rebecca

Isaac brought Rebekah into his mother Sarah’s tent. He received Rebekah as his wife and loved her. So Isaac found comfort after his mother’s death.

Genesis 24:67

How far back can you go with stories about your ancestors? No matter how far, when you read the story of the love of Isaac and Rebecca, these are our spiritual ancestors thousands of years ago. What this means, is that God used this couple in a special way to create a special people for God of which we are a part.

God is so great that God beholds all of the human family at a glance. From these great persons of the past right down to you and me, we are on God’s mind and in God’s heart. Go back to the cross again from the Firestarter of yesterday. I am reminded of what someone once said: “When Jesus was on the cross, I was on his mind!”

Genesis 24:53-67
