Whoever speaks should do so as those who speak God’s word. Whoever serves should do so from the strength that God furnishes. Do this so that in everything God may be honored through Jesus Christ. To him be honor and power forever and always. Amen.
1 Peter 4:11
Sometimes you will notice special connections from one day’s reading into the next. Today’s reading, for example, is along the same lines as Psalm 101 of yesterday. It is as though God wants us to keep on the path of the holy desires of yesterday.
Verse 10 talks about “spiritual gifts.” As you read the small list of them, what kinds of gifts come to your mind that you have been given by God? God has a special plan for you and has given you gifts and talents that you are called to develop as the years go on, so that when you arrive at your adult life, you’ll be ready for the special tasks that God has planned for you. Can you picture what these might be? Let your imagination be as free as when you just run across an open field. What does God’s Spirit want to tell you?
