Faith Makes Us Whole

Every morning, a day stretches out before you and me. What will happen? How will you feel? When you get up this morning, spend some time with Jesus and a few healings that take place in the Gospel reading for today. Imagine someone who from the first time he opens his eyes till they close at night, a demon inside pushes and shoves. The man suffers greatly and is completely anxious and crazy. Jesus moves in: the demons are cast out and the man is finally left in peace…rather than in pieces!

There are two other stories about women–a young girl and a lady. The girl dies, and the woman has a dangerous condition of bleeding that won’t stop. Jesus brings the girl back to life and the woman is healed just by touching the edge of Jesus’ clothes. Her faith in Jesus makes her well.

Maybe your life does not have needs as great as these two persons, but who can say when we get up in the morning, “We don’t need you today, Jesus–maybe tomorrow!”

As you place yourself in the crowd and watch Jesus sharing his power, maybe something will come to your mind that needs Jesus’ love. Imagine and feel what that need is. Stretch out for your hand so that you can touch Jesus. Jesus is reaching his hand toward you to pick you up and heal you of anything that is bothering you.
