Preparing the Way

You can imagine the preparations that must go into a place when the circus comes to town.  One of the persons is the “Twenty-four hour person.”   This is the one who arrives in the town before the circus is about to begin to be sure that the tent is up and everything is ready for the parade of performers and animals.

Jesus comes to that point in his ministry when he needs disciples to go ahead of him to prepare the way.  These disciples bring peace, joy and the promise of Jesus’ healing presence that would be coming.

What can you do with friends and other persons that you know to prepare them for the coming of Jesus in their hearts?  As you read the instructions of Jesus for that time, what do they mean to you today?

Luke 10:1-11; 16-20
