A Tribe Wimping Out?

After forty years of wandering, with just a small river to cross to enter the Promised Land, another problem comes up.  Some of the tribes want to stay on the east side of the Jordan and not enter into the wonderful new land that God has offered them.  Moses has to be sure that they are not wimping out and not wanting to help each other enter their new land.

It’s important that we stay faithful together to what God wants of us.  Though there are plans that God has for you, still God wants you to help out friends, classmates, relatives and to stay close to one another to support each one’s special calls in life.  We are not meant to go it alone as we enter into the future.  You know, the future is kind of a “Promised Land” that God has in store for you!

 Numbers 32:1-27

The Saturday passages follow the reading list that Jewish people use in their synagogue worship throughout the world. They are taken from
“The Torah,” the first five books of the Bible from Genesis to Deuteronomy that are read each year beginning with autumn.

These Firestarters are from a new edition of The Bible Through the Seasons being developed for families with children.
