Moses’ Deathbed

If you have ever been with a dear person when he or she has died, you’ll be able to appreciate the book of Deuteronomy.  It’s as though we are with Moses on his deathbed, as he gives us final instructions.  Now don’t think that he gave this whole book on the point of his death, but it comes from his heart, for he knows that he is going to die before God’s people reach the Promised Land.

So listen to these words as though you are gathered with God’s people who hang on the words of their dear Moses whom God used to free them from slavery.

I love chapter 11, verses 18-21.  These are the words of Moses that he longs for you and me to take to heart, for he won’t have the chance to encourage us much longer. I got the idea of wearing a Bible Breath Bracelet from these verses. To learn more, visit https://biblethroughseasons.com/bible-breaths/

Deuteronomy 10:12―11:25

The Saturday passages follow the reading list that Jewish people use in their synagogue worship throughout the world. They are taken from
“The Torah,” the first five books of the Bible from Genesis to Deuteronomy that are read each year beginning with autumn.

These Firestarters are from a new edition of The Bible Through the Seasons being developed for families with children. For the Firestarters in the original edition, I recommend the ebook.  You will have the entire program of well over a thousand of these introductions with you on your phone or table! Check the menu options at the site for more information.
