Fanning the Flame

After a firestarter has done its work in your fireplace and the logs are burning bright, every once in a while you’ll need to blow on the fire or fan it with cardboard or newspaper.  That’s what Paul is thinking about when he writes this letter to Timothy, a young and dedicated follower of Jesus.  He is as a spiritual son of St. Paul.  Paul urges him to “rekindle” the gift that God gave him.

What are the gifts that God has given you that make you special and unique?  How about making a list of them?  What can you do to fan the flame of them to make them burn brighter and warmer?

 2 Timothy 1:3-14
