The Day that Never Ends

On Mondays in recent weeks, we’ve been hearing some very powerful prophets of the Lord.  Their words are meant to awaken those whose thoughts and ways have strayed far from God.  But now we have a shift in Zephaniah.  While his words are still quite strong, gentle words of comfort begin to flow in the final part of his brief book which will continue in the remaining three prophets at the end of the Old Testament.

The prophet talks about “The Day of the Lord.”  He means that there will come a time when God’s justice and love will win out over all those opposed to God and God’s ways.

That day has already come when the sun rose with Jesus that first Easter morning!  In a spiritual sense, that “sun” has never set…for the “Son” is always with us!

Zephaniah 3:9-17

Mondays are dedicated to the reading of the Hebrew Prophets.
