A Wall of Fire

It may seem strange, but to stop a wild fire from spreading in the forest, another one is deliberately set blazing around it. It encircles the fire that rages, so that when the wild fire reaches the burnt out area, it has nothing more to burn and so it burns out.

Zechariah uses this idea when talking about “the outer wall of fire” that God is going to be for God’s people. God will be a protecting wall of fire from outside so that no evil can enter from without.  God’s glory, like a warm, wonderful fire, is meant to burn within us!

You can see that fires are both good and bad. I hope that the Firestarter-messages I share with you each day will help to have the Holy Spirit set fire within you.

 Zechariah 2

Mondays are dedicated to the reading of the Hebrew Prophets.

These Firestarters are from a new edition of The Bible Through the Seasons being developed for families with children. For the Firestarters in the original edition, I recommend the ebook.  You will have the entire program of well over a thousand of these introductions with you on your phone or table! Check the menu options at the site for more information.
