I Live As a Child of God

One of the most wonderful effects of Jesus’ dying and rising is that we become adopted children of God. At the very moment when God might really punish us for rejecting Jesus by killing him on the cross, God opens His arms and welcomes us as His own children.

Here’s an idea that will help this wonderful fact sink way down into you.  Take this phrase: “I live as a child of God.” Repeat it over and over as you breathe—three syllables as you inhale, three as you exhale, resting on the final word, God.  May we always rest in God as our dear Father!

Galatians 4:1-7

Thursdays are dedicated to the New Testament, except the Gospels.
This year in the season of Advent to Epiphany we read the letters of Titus, Philemon, Galatians and Philippians.

These Firestarters are from a new edition of The Bible Through the Seasons being developed for families with children. For the Firestarters in the original edition, I recommend the ebook.  You will have the entire program of well over a thousand of these introductions with you on your phone or table! Check the menu options at the site for more information.
