Guilt is Not a Pet Rock!

Here are ten great verses from St. Paul—each one packed with good advice for us, in words that are easy to understand. When you read these verses as a family, their power really gets going.  Imagine that you are listening to Paul himself tell you about these good ways to live.  He knows…he practiced this way to live; yet he knew that there was a time in his life when he didn’t do that, to say the least!  He used to go about killing God’s people who became newborn persons in Christ.

You’ll want to stop at verses that seem to hit home in special ways.  Maybe you and your family can confess your faults and failings to each other.  This is a wonderful way to talk, because the love you have as a family is like the love of God who forgives us and sets us free.  That means we don’t have to carry guilt around. Guilt is like a heavy rock being carried around in a back-pack.  Who would want to have a pet rock like that!
