The Light of Jesus

Imagine these two mountains side by side: Mount Sinai where Moses received the Ten Commandments, and the Mount of the Beatitudes.  The first mountain are the “Thou Shalt Nots,” while the second ones being with positive blessings: “How happy you will be if you DO what the Beatitudes say.

Now let’s imagine that you are salt…feel what that would be like, and then light.  Salt makes food taste very good; we get out light from the Light which is Jesus.

The only way that we can shine is if we walk and rest in the beam of light which is the Spirit of Jesus. Stay in His light.

On Sundays we follow the Gospels from the Revised Common Lectionary.

Matthew 5:13–20
