God—Our Only Chance

If you are being bullied at school, it may seem like a good idea to have some friends who can take them on in a fight. It’s not a good idea at all, since it increases violence.  Much better is it to have friends who love and accept you as you are. Love is much stronger than hatred.  Furthermore, trusting in the Lord who loves you is really stronger than what is coming against you.

Today’s reading is about the same problem.  There were bully nations around God’s people.  They were tempted to make friends with the mighty Assyrians, who would turn soon against them.  It was time to trust in God alone.  God was their only chance!

God is our only chance.  Think about this and see how you can let God more and more be the One whom you turn to in need.  God will see to it that you receive the help that you need.

 Isaiah 10:20-25
