Backsliding

Could you imagine how foolish it would be to slide backwards on skiis down a mountain?  Not seeing where you are going, you’d be sure to run into a tree or have some other kind of serious accident.

Jeremiah uses the word “backsliding” to talk about how God’s people started off OK…but then they backslid—turning in the opposite direction from God.  Down they fell, bumping into sin !

How do you and your family do when it comes to backsliding?  Now what I mean is this: are their ways of  thinking and behaving that are in the opposite direction of what God intends?  Think about it!

Like returning home after being lost, so may you find God.

Jeremiah 3:11-20
