Jesus Pitches His Tent with Us!

St. John writes his gospel like a painter who makes a masterpiece out of four “colors.”  The names of these colors are life, light, glory and truth!  Now we’re talking about a spiritual kinds of colors—not regular ones.

As we read this Gospel, see how John makes broad strokes with these colors.  We could put their names on a banner with bright letters right up front as we walk in our journey to Easter.

The forty-year journey of our Jewish ancestors from slavery in Egypt to freedom in the Promised Land meant that they had to do a lot of camping in tents along the way.  God was with them. But in Jesus, God takes a very big jump into our lives by sending Jesus who camps right along with us!  Jesus has pitched his tent with us!  That means that God is with us all the way!
