Passover for Everyone

Today is the third day of the weeklong celebration of Passover. This year, 2020, is a very unique one because everyone is inside their homes.

Passover takes its name because the angel of death passed over the Hebrew homes who were instructed to put the blood of the lamb on the door post, so that the Angel of Death would pass-over those dwellings, sparing the first born.

The experience of the coronavirus has shaken every household to its depths.  Just as differences of class, and boundaries of nations has been ignored by this disease, to do differences in religion.  As each of us goes into the depths of our souls, we can discover anew that God is with us, leading us out of this “Egypt” of slavery, into a new freedom which comes from being one with every human being on the face of this earth.

Exodus 33:12—34:26

The Saturday passages follow the reading list that Jewish people use in their synagogue worship throughout the world. They are taken from
“The Torah,” the first five books of the Bible from Genesis to Deuteronomy that are read each year beginning with autumn.
