Another one of God’s great prophets is going to be our guide for the Mondays of the Easter season. He’s a prophet filled with the fire of the Spirit. As usually happens with these prophets, they are called to shake the people loose from being so stubborn. People have lost contact with God, for they were in a land far away, hostages and exiles with people who didn’t believe in God.
To get a feel of this book, read the first chapter also. The part that we’re reading is how Ezekiel receives his call from God. Look at what God tells him to do: God wants him to eat the scroll on which the words of God are written! Can you image eating your Bible?!
In a sense, that’s what we are asked to do when we read. It comes down to verse ten: “Son of man, let all my words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself.” God’s Word sinking in…then it becomes part of who we are.
