If there is anything that got in the way of our Hebrew ancestors enjoying the presence of God in their journey, it was their complaining. In today’s reading, the Jewish leaders complain about Jesus. In both cases, complaining is like putting on blinders; you can’t see what is in front of you.
If you have anything bothering you, rather than complain about it, offer it to the Lord. Breathe out the complaint, and then breathe in the gift of Jesus who gives us “The Bread of Life,” as well as “The Breath of Life.”
