Like an explosion, the church grows and grows in the Book of Acts. Like a fire raging, the persecutions only serve to fan the flames of fervor for the early Christians. Tertullian, an early spiritual writer about our faith, has a wonderful sentence about the persecutions. “The blood of martyrs is the seed of Christians.”
Saul was present at the stoning of Stephen. Saul was more and more resolved to persecute Christians. However, this is the last chapter about Saul; wait till you read what happens in next week’s reading when his name becomes Paul!
Give God all the glory for the wonderful things God wants to do through you. May the Spirit guide you through these daily readings, as Philip guides the eunuch on his path through the Word of God.
Thursdays are dedicated to the letters of Paul, other letters,
the Book of Acts, and the Book of Revelation.
This year in Easter Season we read Acts 1—9
