Have you ever noticed how often we use the word “like” in a sentence? “I was like….it was like…” We keep searching for what are feelings are like. Very often we don’t fully understand what we feel until we find something in nature, for example, that connects us with what we feel.
The man in our reading who loves the woman, also looks for the beautiful world around him as a way to express how much he loves her. He comes upon the idea and image of very delicious wine.
St. John in his Gospel uses the same image, linking Jesus with, “The best wine till now!” (John 2:10)
Tuesdays are dedicated to the Old Testament books of history
