What I Want or What God Wants?

Fall of Lucifer

The wonderful song of Mary, mother of Jesus, has a verse that expresses God’s intentions with people or nations puffed up with pride.  “He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly” (Luke 1:52). Today’s reading has been seen as a way to describe the fall of Lucifer; this is the name given by an old translation of the Bible called “The King James Version.”  His name means “Bearer of Light” and is considered to be Satan, the leader of devils.   

Ponder the five arrogant statements in verses 13 and 14 that begin with the words “I will.”   The “Bearer of Light” has fallen into darkness.
