Imagine that you are sitting with Jesus’ twelve Apostles, listening to him teach about what it takes to share God’s love and peace. Today’s reading is the beginning of the second of five very special lessons that Jesus gives in the Gospel of St. Matthew. Jesus points out the hardships that lie before those who are missionaries; these are ones who set no limits to the possibilities of what they can do for God. God’s presence is always with missionaries so that they can face anything in life.
Sharing God’s peace begins with each of us. We need not lose peace, even if those with whom we wish to share peace don’t accept it. It just bounces right back to us so that we’re ready for the next person who needs peace and who hopefully will accept it.
A life of never-ending peace….Why not? It’s God’s plan for us!
