Love Can Change Hearts

Ever find someone giving their opinion about something or someone when you don’t ask for it?  I get the feeling sometimes that some speak their opinion as though the world were just waiting for their judgment.

The story of  “The Wheat and the Weeds” is about this sort of thing.   For example, we are not meant to say that someone is evil, however much the person may be doing bad things.  To judge others tends to cancel out the possibility that they can change. If we love them without any condition, then what is “weedy” in them can turn into choice “wheat,” if they let our love into their hearts.

There will be a time of judgment at the end of life; God alone will judge.  In the meantime, let’s just love with the hope that love will change hearts.

I especially recommend the free resource in Matthew Henry’s Commentary.

Matthew 13:24-30; 36-43

Sundays are dedicated to the Gospels from the Lectionary,
During most of Lent and Easter we read the Gospel of John.

These Firestarters are from a new edition of The Bible Through the Seasons being developed for families with children. For the Firestarters in the original edition, I recommend the ebook.  You will have the entire program of well over a thousand of these introductions with you on your phone or table! Check the menu options at the site for more information.
