Swept Away by Pride

Our alphabet comes from the ancient land of Phoenicia.  While that country can take pride in giving so many languages the gift of a common alphabet, Phoenicia had fallen into great pride and arrogance. Isaiah’s list of cities proclaimed for downfall concludes with the cities of Tyre and Sidon, merchant centers for ancient Phoenicia.

Pride is at the head of all sin.  Like a deadly tornado, it sweeps destruction in its path.  Allow the breath of the Holy Spirit to gently sweep through you, making your inner house clean.  Pray for humility that will always have you place God first in your life before yourself or anything else.

 Isaiah 23:1-9
