Wonders on Water

Here is a scene to flash in your imagination: Jesus walking on top of a stormy lake.  Jesus adds this miracle to the list of how God in the past has done wonders through water.  Noah and the flood; God’s people walking on dry land through the Red Sea; the saving  waters of baptism.

You’ll read about what happened to Peter when he saw Jesus on the water.  He steps out and starts walking on water himself!  Then see what happens…

What comes to mind for you as you listen in your heart to this reading?

Matthew 14:22-33

Check out Study Tools in BibleGateway.
I especially recommend the free resource
in Matthew Henry’s Commentary.

Sundays are dedicated to the Gospels from the Lectionary,
During most of Lent and Easter we read the Gospel of John.

These Firestarters are from a new edition of The Bible Through the Seasons being developed for families with children. For the Firestarters in the original edition, I recommend the ebook.  You will have the entire program of well over a thousand of these introductions with you on your phone or table! Check the menu options at the site for more information.
