Stories often have some wonderful final lines that are like the final puffs that make a balloon grow to its full size. The story of creation in Genesis 1 is very much like that.  God’s creation is finally complete when God creates the first and woman. “God created humanity in God’s own image, in the divine image God created them, male and female God created them” (Genesis 1:27 CEB).  Since men and women are like God, you can guess that marriage is very important to God.  The love that husbands and wives have for each other is just an image, a kind of picture of how much God loves us. 

When the religious leaders refused to let Jesus love them and they rejected him, it was like being invited to a special wedding and then ignoring the invitation! Let’s not do that!  

Welcome God into your heart.  That’s where God wants to live and be close to you.
