God Will Take Care of You.

“Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.”
Matthew 22:21

The religious leaders keep trying to catch Jesus:  “OK to pay taxes to the Roman Emperor?”  If Jesus says, “Yes,” he’d be hated by the Jewish people; they were so angry to pull out money from their pockets and into those of the Emperor.  If Jesus says “No,” big trouble for him, rebelling against Rome.  The punishment: to hang on a cross.  This is what happened to Jesus. The religious leaders will lie, saying that Jesus was an outlaw who wanted to fight against the Romans.

How does Jesus get out of the problem? “Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.”  Now he won’t get into trouble.

God will always give you a way out when others are mean to you.  You know something: you belong to God; God will take care of you.

Matthew 22:15–22
