God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them,
“Be fertile, multiply, and fill the earth.

There is something that doesn’t happen very often, but when it does, I feel very happy. It’s seeing a rainbow. Whenever it’s raining and the sun is out, turn in the opposite direction of the sun and you’ll probably see one.
God decides to have the rainbow be a reminder that God is not going to end creation and start all over again as he did with Noah, his family and the animals. In fact, God does something even better. God offers a new relationship with us. It is called a covenant. This means that there are promises that God makes to us and we make to God. God promises to protect us in life; however, we need to stay under God’s protection—like being under an umbrella when it’s raining.
Close your eyes and picture a beautiful rainbow. It is just like God’s love arching over us and embracing us.
