Esau said to his father, “Do you really have only one blessing, Father? Bless me too, my father!” And Esau wept loudly.
Genesis 27:38

I’ll bet there are times when you’ve say out loud about something: “It’s not fair!” Here’s an amazing Bible story that is very, very unfair. Jacob, the father of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, cheats his way into getting this special privilege. His older brother, Esau, ought to have been the one to have the one-and-only blessing from Isaac and through Esau, to his descendants. The story begins with Rachel preferring her son Jacob to Esau.
All through the Bible, God has to work around the mean things that people do to each other in order to bring about God’s plan of love for all people. Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss, sending him to the cross to die for us. However, this was God’s chance to show how Love is stronger than betrayal, deceit and crucifixion. God’s power of love wins out over all. What joy to know that!
