Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. Look, I myself will be with you every day until the end of this present age.”

One time when I was in the seminary, a group of us took a hike up Hunter Mountain in the Catskill Mountains of New York State. It was winter. When we got to the top, we enjoyed the view so much that we forgot that the sun would soon be setting. Some of the group got lost in the dark on the way down; they had to spend the night on the mountain. You can imagine how glad we were when we all got together at the bottom of the mountain the next morning!
When Jesus was saying goodbye on the top of a mountain, his friends must have hoped that the sun would never set on that day! No longer would they see, hear and touch Jesus. From that time on, the sixth sense of faith would be the way to be connected with him.
Jesus wants us to gather the whole world into our hands in prayer, welcoming every person we meet into becoming his close friends and disciples.
