Look at what some people did to get a paralyzed man to Jesus: they made a hole in the roof and dropped him right through it so that he could be touched by Jesus. Imagine how surprised the people were as they pressed about the Lord. Somebody got ahead of the line!
A paralyzed man walking all around: can you believe that this upset the teachers of religion at that time? “Wow, people might get more excited about Jesus than about us!” Yet Jesus does something greater than healing the person’s body: he forgives the wrongs and sins that bind him. Jesus heals hearts and minds as well as bodies.
About that roof . . . You know what? Jesus who wants to pass through the barrier—the “roof” of you heart and live inside. The religious leaders of the time had roofs to their heart as hard as a turtle’s shell! They closed up when they saw Jesus coming. Will you open up and let Jesus into your heart?
