Right Here, Right Now

Have you ever found yourself getting very impatient while you’re waiting for something special to happen?  Being impatient can likely weaken peaceful feelings.

This is what happened to God’s people in the desert.  They were waiting a long time for Moses to come down from the mountain where he was talking with God.  They were tempted to give up on God, and make another god for themselves.  You’ll read about the very sad thing they did by making a golden calf that they worshipped in place of God.  How dumb!

Patience is a great virtue. It is a gift from God.  Patience teaches us to know that whatever is happening right now is OK, no matter how much we are looking forward to something else happening in the future.  So right now, feel your physical body—it’s weight, your breathing, your heart beating.  God is right here, right now!

Bible Breaths Learn More…

The Saturday passages follow the reading list that Jewish people use in their synagogue worship
throughout the world. They are taken from
“The Torah,” the first five books of the Bible from Genesis to Deuteronomy
that are read each year beginning with autumn.

These Firestarters are for families with children. For the Firestarters in the original edition, I recommend the ebook.  You will have the entire program of well over a thousand of these introductions with you on your phone or tablet! Check the menu options at the site for more information.
