If a tree is to become great and tall, its roots must sink deep and wide into the ground. Follow St. Paul today and sink into that place way down inside you where it is very silent and where the seed of God’s love is growing within.
Our first parents, Adam and Eve, soon pulled up their roots after being planted in God. They transplanted their roots into the soil of sin and selfishness. This is what St. Paul means by being dead because of sin. However, God came in Jesus, and through him, planted God’s very life deep into the earth once again. The cross on which Jesus died was sunk into the ground and become a new tree of life.
As you sit quietly in prayer, whether alone or with your family, imagine yourself sinking into Jesus who waits to receive you and give you His own wonderful life. As you sink down, God’s grace and love well up. When you rise form prayer, share the gift of God’s love in you with others.
