A Future and a Hope

Today’s reading has one of my favorite verses in the Bible: “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope” (Jer 29:11).  What comfort this brought to the people of Jeremiah’s day who were taken into exile into Babylonia!  It helped them to see that God was giving them a future, far greater than the bleak sadness of what seemed to be endless days in a foreign land.

Think of doing something special with this verse, perhaps writing it with your best handwriting or printing it and making a card for someone who is very sad or frightened.  Your love carries the message of the verse into their hearts.

Of course be sure to receive this verse as a special message from God to you.  God has wonderful plans for your future as you grow each day into being the person God calls you to be.

Jeremiah 29:8-14
