There were some holy women who stayed very close to Jesus on the cross. They did not run away as did all but one of the Apostles. Jesus was always on their mind and hearts. They did not think about themselves.
Still mourning the loss of Jesus, they made their way early Sunday morning to rub the body of Jesus with sweet smelling oils. All the noise and commotion of Good Friday did not give them a chance to do that. So they waited an extra day and came on Sunday. Walk with them in their sadness…then confusion and distress when they see the great stone pushed back and Jesus not in the tomb. “Was he stolen?” How anxious they were! Feel it. Now catch the shift of their feelings to surprise and the immense joy of seeing Jesus alive. Spend time with them. May their joy become yours!
