God is Your Friend

Ezekiel wants to shake you up. Today he reminds his listeners how much they forgot how good God had been and how God wanted them to live in ways that showed how grateful they were for God’s love and kindness. What did our Jewish ancestors do? Not much thanks; instead, rebellion.

Perhaps you don’t think of yourself as rebelling against God, but something similar can happen in our lives.  We can forget that in every hour of life, there is a call for us to live in a way that shows God’s love and life through us. When we forget about living like that, it’s easy to start competing, saying:  “Me first!”  This is the beginning of rebelling against God.

Think about how God wants you to live, maybe even writing how God wants you to act with parents, friends—and those at school who don’t like you. God cares about your happiness.  You are God’s friend!  Are there some things you want to talk about with God?  You can do this by writing a conversation—just you and God.
