Minds Open to the Word

Jesus comes in his risen body to his frightened disciples.  At first they think he is a ghost!   What convinces them that it really is Jesus?  When he takes some fish and eats it.  Ghosts don’t do that!

They become so very happy that Jesus is with them.  Then Jesus begins to open their minds so that they can understand the Holy Scriptures.  The Lord wants to do the same for you.  We need God’s help for us to understand what God is saying to us as we read God’s Word everyday.  Before you read the passage from the Bible each day, ask the Holy Spirit to teach you to understand the reading—as though it is written just for you . . . and it is!

Luke 24:36-49
