Against Unbelief

Tap here for a video meditation on Psalm 14.

[Note: This psalm and psalm 53 are the same, except for this one’s use of the name Yahweh for God.] Though there are many who say with their mouth that they believe in God, by the way in which they live, their heart betrays that they do not. This psalm does not seek to breed a “holier than thou” attitude, but rather to be a sobering reminder that the world does not live with the Lord in charge, and despises those do.

The last verse gathers all this into a cry for the world, to free it from captivity. In the name of Jesus, stand against the spirit of unbelief that chokes the world. Pray for you and your loved ones. Is there anything that is holding you captive? By the power in the Holy Name, command that all that stands between you and the Lord be removed.
