This is the most sacred day of the year for a Jew, usually occurring in early October. This is the only time when the priest would enter into The Holy of Holies.
Every day, every moment, you can be in The Holy of Holies; it is your own heart where Jesus lives. Jesus has gathered all the elements of the Old Law into himself. Go to that place within where you are most you and where you are perhaps most hurting. The Lord longs to meet you there. Be with the Lord. It is holy there, because you have been made so by the Lord’s presence.
This is the first of three parts of the Torah Portion Ahare Moth (After the Death)
Conservative and Reform Jewish congregations read only this part this year,
as also in this Bible plan.

Example: Incense rising from my heart v. 12
The Saturday passages follow the reading list that Jewish people use in their synagogue worship
throughout the world. They are taken from
“The Torah,” the first five books of the Bible from Genesis to Deuteronomy
that are read each year beginning with autumn.
