Paul’s First Missionary Journey

Fasting, prayer, and laying on of hands are three spirit-filled actions which begin the ministry of St. Paul. This great Apostle to the Gentiles begins to realize the implications of the visions of Cornelius and Peter.

Today’s chapters describe Paul’s first missionary journey. It will be very helpful to have a map of this area next to you as you read. Paul and Barnabas begin by setting sail from Seleucia, a seaport on the northeast shore of the Mediterranean. From there they sail to the Island of Cyprus, then going north to the southern shore of modern Turkey and the cities in that area. Paul preaches in synagogues. The order of Sabbath readings is very much the same then as now!

As you walk about today, sense yourself on a missionary journey.
