Love Makes Us Change

There’s a saying I remember learning as a boy: “If you don’t have anything good to say about someone, then don’t say anything!” Paul reminds us that negative criticism just doesn’t work.  You and I don’t respond to criticism without love.

Feel the shift in the thought in verse 4, when Paul says, “But then…”  Now we hear a flood of God’s love that makes us desire to change.  Love makes us change; criticism doesn’t!  Let’s get in touch with God’s love and know that God will give us God’s own life so that we can respond more and more to others with love.

Titus 3:1-8

Thursdays are dedicated to the New Testament, except the Gospels. This year in the season of Advent to Epiphany we read the letters of Titus, Philemon, Galatians and Philippians.

These Firestarters are from a new edition of The Bible Through the Seasons being developed for families with children. For the Firestarters in the original edition, I recommend the ebook.  You will have the entire program of well over a thousand of these introductions with you on your phone or table! Check the menu options at the site for more information.
