These Fridays of the Easter Season we are staying with Jesus through his words of comfort and reassurance to his disciples. Jesus spoke to them at the Last Supper, but we can hear them during the forty days when Jesus was with his disciples between the Resurrection and the Ascension.
In chapter 4 of St. John’s Gospel, Jesus told a thirsty woman that he was living water—spiritual water that bubbles up inside of you. If you are feeling way inside a thirst for God, then these verses will be like great gulps of fresh, living water for your own soul. Recall Psalm 63 of this past Wednesday.
Once your spiritual thirst is quenched, what can you do to bring this living water to others to help relieve their inner thirst for God?
Here is a Bible Breath that will help you find comfort in the essence of today’s reading. Jesus says, “You in me, and I in you.”

Fridays are dedicated to the Gospels. This year, we generally read from the Gospel of Mark,
except during most of Lent and Easter when we read from the Gospel of John.
